 | 2026-04-29 | Scrapper Ride 5.5 Forget carbon fiber princesses that shatter if you look at them wrong. Forget the sterile, silent hum of a commuter e-bike. The Scrapper Ride 5.5 is not a bicycle; it is a statement. It is the two-wheeled equivalent of a junkyard dog-ugly, loyal, and devastatingly effective. This is the bike for the end of the cul-de-sac, the abandoned industrial park, the overgrown canal path, and the sketchy shortcut through the rail yard. We built this machine because the pavement is imperfect, and so is your attitude. The Chassis: Overbuilt & Underrated At the heart of the Ride 5.5 lies a Hydroformed Steel Frame (Series 2.0). Yes, steel. It’s real. It’s heavy. It doesn’t care. While aluminum cracks and carbon splinters, the Scrapper’s frame absorbs the tectonic shocks of city riding like a sponge. The top tube is aggressively straight, the down tube is reinforced with a gusset plate at the head tube, and the chainstays are asymmetrical to clear a tire that borders on offensive. Paired to the frame is the Rungu Jump Fork. This is a 1-1/8" threadless, hi-ten steel unicrown fork with a 40mm offset. It offers zero suspension—because suspension fails. Instead, the Rungu fork uses the natural flex of the steel to track straight through debris. It features dual eyelets for a cargo rack or a second set of lights, and a reinforced crown that has been tested to survive being dropped off a loading dock. The Rolling Stock: Maximum Grip, Minimum F*cks Tires are the only thing touching the apocalypse, so we gave you the Scrapper Knard 27.5 x 2.8". These are not gravel tires; gravel tires are for dentists. The Knard features a continuous center ridge for rolling speed on pavement, transitioning to aggressive, blocky side-knobs that bite into loose dirt, wet leaves, or that weird mulch stuff in the park. They run tubeless-ready on Puncture Cut rims (double-wall, 32h), meaning you pull the nail out, spin the wheel, and keep riding. Single Speed Sanity Complexity is a liability. The Ride 5.5 ships with a Scrapper Sprocket 36T narrow-wide chainring connected to a 16T rear cog via a heavy-duty KMC Z1eHX chain. That’s it. One gear. No derailleurs to snap off on a log. No shift cables to freeze. No indexed clicking to annoy your neighbors at 2 AM. The ratio (2.25:1) is the sweet spot for urban torque—you can spin up a parking garage ramp and still mash the pedals to chase a bus. Ratio is also easy to customize. The Brakes: Stopping is Optional, but Probable Mechanical disc brakes. Brand: Clarks M2. Cable-actuated, because hydraulic fluid boils and bleeds. With a 160mm rotor front and rear, the M2 calipers offer predictable, muddy, all-weather stopping power. They squeal like a pig when wet; that’s a feature, not a bug. It lets pedestrians know you’re coming. The Cockpit: The Bruiser Bar You don’t ride this bike; you command it. The Scrapper Cro-Mo riser bar (780mm wide, 30mm rise) is backed by a 50mm stub stem. This puts your weight back over the rear wheel, preventing endos when you hit that unexpected sinkhole. Grips are the ODI Longneck knock-offs—ribbed, rubbery, and replaceable. The saddle is the Ride 5.5 “Panzer”—a wide, vinyl-padded brick with a chromoly rail. It won’t win any comfort awards on a century ride, but your sit bones will harden up within a week. We promise. Technical Specifications (The Short List) · Frame: 1020 Hi-Ten Steel, Internal dropper post routing (optional), Post mount disc brake tabs. · Fork: Rigid Hi-Ten, Clearance for 29x2.6" or 27.5x3.0". · Wheels: 27.5" alloy double-wall, sealed cartridge bearings. · Crankset: Forged 6061 alloy, 170mm. · Bottom Bracket: Square taper, sealed. · Weight: 31.4 lbs (14.2 kg) – It’s a thicc boi. · Max Rider Weight: 300 lbs (136 kg). Warning: Riding this bicycle may cause a sudden lack of respect for road hazards, an urge to hop curbs, and the irrational belief that you can beat a delivery scooter through red lights. Ride at your own risk. Wear a helmet. You’re not invincible; the bike is. photomediatext | — | 936 | 23 | 0 | 0 | 2.5% |
