I did it out of curiosity and I couldn't believe how much wire people throw away. There are old appliances, construction waste, and all kinds of electrical cables. I spent about two hours collecting everything and I'm sure I could have found even more. Lately, it's becoming harder and harder to find scrap wire to recycle, so this has become one of my best sources. And at the same time, we're cleaning up waste that would otherwise stay in the environment for many years. Then I spent another four hours recycling everything. In the end, I recovered 34 kilograms of clean copper and made $400. Where I live, I'd have to work about three days to earn that much money.
